Mothers Multi-Task Even Better With Flexible Working Hours

Kayla Shearer moved from Sydney, Australia to Kuala Lumpur two years ago when the company she was working for, Grimshaw Architects, wanted to open their Malaysian office. At first, the team of five worked from their client’s office, but found that this stifled business expansion.

The flexible arrangements at Common Ground worked out perfectly for them. For Kayla, not only does she enjoy flexible hours, but she can even bring her kids to work and know that they are safe at Common Ground’s cafe while she does her job. What is even better is that it allows her to pursue interests outside of work itself, such as running Purposeful Retreats (www.purposefulretreats.com), a retreat for working mothers to relax and rejuvenate while exploring their full potential, and being involved in the Malaysian chapter of Sheryl Sandberg’s Lean In circle.
