Florence’s weekly diet looks a bit like this:
It’s all about portion control for Florence. She has four meals a day and uses her palm as a guide:
1. One palm of protein-dense foods with each meal (preferably steamed, grilled, roasted or pan-fried with minimal gravy)
2. A fistful of vegetables with each meal (leafy greens, cruciferous veggies – like broccoli and cauliflower)
3. A handful of carbohydrate-dense foods with most meals (rice, corn, peas, whole grains, potatoes, fruit)
4. An entire thumb of fat-dense foods with most meals (avocado, cheese, extra virgin olive oil, palm oil, coconut oil, nuts)
She still eats fried chicken, chocolates or ice-cream, at one meal a week. Moderation is key, she adds.
