Khaw wowed the judges – a panel of industry professionals and bigwigs – with his innovative ideas for a fashion designer incubation centre, to win a place at the regional stage of AYDA and a chance to earn a place at the prestigious Harvard Graduate School of Design.

Achieve A Balance

Instead of an explosion of colours, Khaw suggest a slightly monotone look for something different. This doesn’t necessarily mean shades of gray and black. Rather, choose a favourite colour and  incorporate lighter and darker shades of it. Commenting on how interior design trends usually aligns with fashion trends, Khaw is of the opinion that the monotone look is making a comeback. “Try to be more balanced in terms of tones, where the colours are more toned down,” offers Khaw.
