Goa, India

Make a trip to the west coast and bask yourself under the many beaches in Goa. Guess what, you have 19 to choose from. Palolem is a great place to start if you would like some peace and quiet to enjoy a long-stretch of sparkling white sand dressed with tall coconut trees. With just 15 minutes away, Agonda beach has soft white sands to sink your feet in as well as a great turtle nesting ground – particularly for the Olive Ridley turtles. The best time to witness this is between November to April where you can enjoy new life in a distance and without any flash photography.

After you’ve made a trip to some of the popular or more subdued beaches, take a day trip to the Western Ghat Mountains and marvel at Goa’s tallest waterfall, Dudhsagar Falls. You can refresh that sun-kissed tan with a swim in Dudhsagar, sea of milk (in its literal translation). This trek to the waterfalls is rich with rare flora and fauna making it one of South India’s most popular treks for intermediate to advance trekkers. It can get quite busy during peak season, so we suggest you do some research and book ahead!
